Brihaspati Kund is near Kalinjar Fort in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh, which is located 6KM from Pahadi Kheda village. Brihaspati Kund is directly related to Dev Guru Brihaspati who established his ashram at this place and also used to perform Yagya here. During Shri Ram’s exile in the Rita Yug, many sages came to meet the saints at this place. A beautiful view of the valley and waterfall of Badhin river can be seen in Brihaspati Kund.
Brihaspati Kund is an amazing area surrounded by dense forests and high hills. The beauty of the waterfall falling from a height of 600 feet looks unique. Due to its height of 600 feet, it is also called the Niagara Falls of India. This is a very beautiful place in Bundelkhand region.
Here evidence of mythological, historical and cultural ancient rock paintings have been found on the stones. To reach Brihaspati Kund, one has to go through cave-like mountain paths. On the way, hunters and tribal people and human activities are depicted on the inner walls of the cave. Pictures of tools used in pre-historic times like Dhanuva, Bhula, wire-bow are engraved on the stones. Pictures of bow, spear, arrow-bow are engraved on the stones. This proves that human civilization must have developed around valleys like these.
Pictures of ancient tribal civilization are engraved on the stones on the roofs of the upper part of the mountain of Brihaspati Kund waterfall and on the walls of the old temple nearby. Many ancient caves are present inside the deep pond. The natural beauty of Brihaspati Kund waterfall is very captivating. This place is very important from religious, mythological and historical point of view.
Many small and big mines are present around this waterfall. Where many people try their luck. It is said that the water of Ratna Garbha River and Badhin River also falls in this Brihaspati Kund, due to which precious diamonds are found here when someone digs in this area. Diamonds are also mined here.
The mountain range around Brihaspati Kund in Panna district is a part of the Vindhya range, the source of Brihaspati Kund waterfall is Badhin River. Which originates from the hills of Panna. Seven ponds are formed from Badhin River.
(1) Brihaspati Kund, (2) Suraj Kund, (3) Gufa Kund, (4) Sukha Kund, (5) Hatyara Kund, (6) Vedha Kund, (7) Pataliya Kund.
The natural beauty of Brihaspati Kund becomes even more unique during the rainy season. It seems as if heaven is on earth. The view of the falling water of the waterfall captivates everyone’s mind. Amazing and rare Ayurvedic herbs are found in abundance in the forests around Brihaspati Kund. People having knowledge of Ayurveda come from far and wide in search of these herbs.
Dhundhua waterfall is present in Panna Tiger Reserve in Panna district. It is very big and attractive. Here water falls from the mountains of about hundreds of feet height. Due to water and strong winds, a mist of water rises up to thousands of feet height. It appears as if the water from the waterfall is going into the sky in the form of clouds. Dhundhua waterfall moves with great speed during rain. Its sound can be heard several kilometers away in the forest. Dhundhua waterfall is inside Panna Tiger Reserve. There is also the presence of wild animals around the waterfall. Wild animals keep coming and going up and down the hill. Therefore, there is generally less presence of common people here. This area can be very inaccessible and dangerous during the rainy season. Therefore, the movement of common citizens is controlled here. The waterfall is built on the river. There is a very dense forest on both sides of the stream where it falls.
Traveling on the steep hill and limited path of Brihaspati Kund is no less than an adventure.
Some important things to keep in mind while going to Brihaspati Kund:-
1. You must carry your own food and water here because there is no arrangement for food and water for 3km – 4km around.
2. You must travel wearing comfortable shoes, you have to go down to the waterfall through a chahami route. Therefore, the path is slippery. Do not travel wearing slippers and sandals.
3. Be very cautious while travelling from the edge of the hill because the path is risky. Therefore, do not make photos or videos on the edges. If you want to take photos, be very careful.
4. If you want to take a bath in the waterfall, then definitely take comfortable clothes with you.
How to reach Brihaspati Kund:-
1. The distance of this waterfall from Kulinjar Fort is about 29 km.
2. This waterfall is 31 km from Panna City and 75 km from Chitrakoot.
3. You can also reach this waterfall via Khajuraho, it is 81 km from Khajuraho. To reach here you have to go by bus to Panna. You can also book a car.

मध्य प्रदेश के पन्ना जिले के मे स्थित कालिंजर किले के पास मे बृहस्पति कुंड है जो कि पहाडी खेडा गांव से 6KM दूरी स्थित है। बृहस्पति कुंड का सीधा सम्बन्ध देव गुरु बृहस्पति से हैं जिन्होने इसी स्थान पर अपने आश्रम की स्थापना किया और यहा यज्ञ भी किया करते थे। ऋतायुग मे श्रीराम बनबास, के समय, इसी स्थान पर अनेक ऋषि मुनियो से मिलने के लिए आये थे। बृहस्पति कुंड मे बधिन नदी की घाटी और झरने का सुन्दर नजारा देखने को मिलता है।
बृहस्पति कुंड घने – घने जंगल और ऊँची ऊँची पहाडी से घिरा, हुआ क्षेत्र देखने अद्भुत लगता है। 600 feet उचाई से गिरता हुआ झरना की सुन्दरल आद्वितीय लगती है। 600 feet ऊंचाई होने के कारण इसे, भारत का नियाग्रा जलप्रपात भी कहा जाता है। बुंदेलखण्ड क्षेत्र की यह बहुत ही खुबसूरत जगह है।
यहां पर पौराणिक, ऐतिहासिक व सांस्कृतिक प्राचीन शैल चित्रकला के प्रमाण पत्थरो पर मिले है। बृहस्पति कुंड तक पहुचने के लिए गुफानुमा पहाड़ी रास्तों से जाना पड़ता है, रास्ते में गुफा के अंदरूनी दीवारों पर शिकारी और जनजातीय लोग व मानवीय गतिविधियों को दर्शाते है, तथा पूर्व ऐतिहासिक काल मे प्रयोग में लाये जाने वाले उपकरण जैसे – धनुव, भूला, तार-कमान के चित्र पत्थरों पर उकेरें गय है धनुष, भाला, तीर-कमान के चित्र पत्थरों पर उकेरी गई है। इससे यह प्रमाणित होता है कि इन्हीं जैसी घाटियों के आसपास मानव सभ्यता विकसित हुई होगी।
बृहस्पति कुंड जलप्रपात के पहाड़ के उपरी हिस्से की छतो पर और पास पुराने मंदिर के दीवारो पर आदिकालीन आदिवासी सभ्यता के चित्र पत्थर पर उकेरे हुए है। गहरे कुण्ड के अन्दर अनेको प्रचीन गुफाएं मौजूद है। बृहस्पति कुंड जलप्रपात का प्राकृतिक सुन्दरता बहुत ही मनमोहक है। यह स्थान धार्मिक पौरणिक एवं ऐतिहासिक रूप से बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है।
इस जलप्रपात के आस पास छोटी व बड़ी अनेको खदाने मौजूद है। जहा पर अनेको लोग अपनी किस्मत आजमाते हैं। कहा जाता है कि रत्नगर्भा नदी, बधिन नदी का पानी भी इसी बृहस्पति कुण्ड में, गिरता है जिसके कारण यहाँ कई किसी की, कक्षेत्र में खुदाई करने पर बहुमूल्य हीरे निकलते है। यहाँ पर हीरे भी खदाने मौजूद है।
पन्ना जिले मे मौजूद बृहस्पति कुंड के आसपास की पर्वत श्रृंखला विध्य श्रृंखला का ही हिस्सा है, बृहस्पति कुंड जलप्रपात का स्रोत बधिन नदी है। जिसका उद्गम स्थल पन्ना की पहाडियाँ श्रृंखलाओ से हुआ है। बधिन नदी से सात कुंडो, का निर्माण होता है।
(1) बृहस्पति कुण्ड, (2) सूरज कुण्ड , (3) गुफा कुण्ड, (4) सुखा कुण्ड, (5) हत्यारा कुण्ड, (6) वेधा कुण्ड, (7) पतालिया कुण्ड है।
बरिश के दिनो मे बृहस्पति कुण्ड की प्राकृतिक सुन्दरता और भी अद्वितीय हो जाती है। ऐसा लगता है जैसे स्वर्ग धरती पर हो। गिरता हुआ, झरने का पानी का धुआधार दृश्य सबके मन को मोह लेता है बृहस्पति कुण्ड के आसपास के जंगलों मे अद्भुत व दुर्लभ आयुर्वेदिक जड़ी बूटी प्रचुर मात्रा मे पाई जाती है। इन जड़ी बूटी की खोज मे आयुर्वेद के ज्ञाता लोग दूर-दूर ढूंढने के लिए आते है।
पन्ना जिले में पन्ना टाइगर रिजर्व में धुंधुआ जलप्रपात मौजूद है। यह बहुत ही बड़ा व आकर्षक है। यहां पर करीब सैकड़ों फीट की ऊंचाई के पहाड़ों से पानी नीचे गिरता है। पानी और तेज हवाओं के कारण यहां हजारों फीट ऊंचाई तक पानी का धुंध उठता है। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है मानों जलप्रपात से पानी बादल बनकर आसमान में जा रहा हो। धुंधुआ जलप्रपात बारिश के दौरान काफी वेग से चलता है। इसकी आवाज जंगल में कई किलोमीटर दूर तक सुनाई देती है। धुंधआ जलप्रपात पन्ना टाइगर रिजर्व के अंदर हैं। जलप्रपात के आसपास जंगली जानवरों की मौजूदगी भी होती है। पहाड़ी के ऊपर और नीचे तब तब वन्य प्राणी आते जाते रहते हैं। इसलिए यहां सामान्य रुप से आम लोगों की मौजूदी कम ही होती है। बारिश के सीजन में यह इलाका काफी दुर्गम और खतरनाक भी हो सकता है। इसलिए यहां आम नागरिकों की आवाजाही को नियंत्रित रखा जाता है। जलप्रपात जिस नदी पर बना है। उसकी धारा के साथ जहां यह गिरता है, दोनों तरफ काफी घना जंगल लगा हुआ है।
बृहस्पति कुंड की खड़ी पहाड़ी और सीमित रास्ते में सफर करना किसी साहसिक कार्य से कम है।
बृहस्पति कुण्ड जाने मे कुछ जरूरी बाते:-
1. यहाँ अपने से भोजन और पानी अवश्य ले जाना चाहिए क्योंकि आसपास 3km – 4km तक भोजन पानी कोई व्यवस्था नहीं है।
2. आरामदायक जूते पहन कर यात्रा करनी, चाहिए चहामी मार्ग से होते हुए नीचे झरने तक जाना होता है। इसलिए रास्ते मे फिसलन होती है 1 चप्पल और सैंडल पहन कर यात्रा न करे
3. पहाड़ी के किनारे से यात्रा करते समय बेहद सवाध्यान रहे क्योंकि रास्ता जोखिम भरा है। इसलिए किनारो पर फोटो व बीडियो न बनाये। अगर फोटो लेना हो तो बहुत ही सावधानी बरते
4. अगर आप झरने मे नहाना चाहते है तो अपने साथ आरामदायक कपडे जरूर ले जाए
कैसे पहुंचे बृहस्पति कुण्ड :-
1. कूलिंजर किले से इस जलप्रपात की दूरी लगभग 29 km है।
2. पन्ना सिटी से 31 km चित्रकुट से यह जलप्रपात 75 km है।
3. आप खजुराहो के रास्ते भी आप इस जलप्रपात पहुच सकते है, खजुराहो से 81 km दूर है। यहां पहुंचने के लिए आपको पन्ना तक बस से फिर. गाडी बुक करके भी जा सकते है।
4. सतना से पन्ना पहुँच कर इस जलप्रपात तक पहुचा जा सकता है
